Our Squadron sponsors annual merit based scholarships to promote higher education in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and to improve community awareness of Marine Corps aviation. Since 2007 we have awarded $102,000 in scholarships to 27 students.
High school students from Southern Maryland Tri-County (St. Mary's, Calvert and Charles) area public, private, and home schools and the dependents of John Glenn Squadron members are eligible to apply. Applicants must pursue a STEM-based degree.
Applications are accepted through early March and must be sumbitted via the St. Mary's County Business, Education, and Community Alliance (SMCBECA). The MCAA John Glenn Squadron is a 501(c)(19) veterans' organization. Please consult current IRS regulations or your tax preparer concerning the deductibility of your donation.
